We opened our doors in 1996 with a simple goal: to support the Territory’s construction and trade industries with quality, reliable sheet metal work. Back then it was stainless steel, aluminium and general fabrication — and a small team doing whatever it took to get the job done.
Word spread quickly. Our attention to detail, fast turnaround and willingness to help meant more work, bigger projects and ongoing partnerships with builders and trades across Darwin and remote communities.
As demand grew, so did our workshop. We continued investing in better equipment and expanding into specialised projects like commercial kitchens and custom industrial fabrication. By the early 2010s, we had outgrown our original workshop and earned a reputation as one of Darwin’s most reliable fabricators.
In 2013 we took the next step and became Darwin Sheetmetal & Laser Cutting Pty Ltd, marking our move into laser cutting — a capability that transformed our production capacity and opened new opportunities.
Our team strengthened its skills across aluminium, stainless and mild steel fabrication, and we became a trusted supplier of custom-made components for NT remote communities. Investing in new machinery and digital systems helped us work smarter, stay consistent and deliver the accuracy we’re known for today.
The last few years have been a major turning point. We invested heavily in state-of-the-art technology, upgraded flatbed lasers, 3D tube laser cutting, flow drilling and threading, giving our team the tools to take on more complex work.
These capabilities helped us grow into sectors such as Defence, Oil & Gas and major commercial projects. They also strengthened our identity as a modern, precision-driven NT manufacturer committed to raising the bar for local fabrication.
Today, we operate from a modern facility in Winnellie, equipped with advanced in-house laser-cutting and fabrication machinery. Our team takes pride in being known as “the most detailed fabricators in Darwin”. A reputation built through decades of problem-solving, craftsmanship and Territory know-how.
We support industries across the NT, including remote community furniture, commercial kitchens, architectural work, industrial fabrication, Defence, Oil & Gas and customer CNC projects.
More than 30 years in, we’re still driven by the same values: quality, precision, partnership and continuous improvement. As the Territory grows, so do we, with plans to expand our advanced fabrication technology, strengthen our Defence supply chain capability and build even greater production efficiency.
