Remote Communities

Innovative fabrication for regional living.

We deliver practical and durable solutions for housing, utilities, and facilities in remote areas across the NT.

Applications include:

  • Modular and prefabricated housing components
  • Structural tubing for community facilities
  • Rapid-assembly systems suited to remote environments

Technical Capability

DSM produces sheet metal modules designed for distance, hard use and straightforward servicing. Stainless kitchen tops, carcasses, splashbacks and robust storage panels are laser cut and folded for strength, with safe edges and anti-tamper hardware suited to community settings and high-use facilities.

Standardised hole grids and adjustable mounting points allow installations across varied substrates. Tube laser cut modular frames use keyed tabs, through-holes and coped joins so crews can assemble with basic tools while maintaining consistent geometry—making it easier to repair, swap and reconfigure assets years down the track.

Material selection is practical and cost-aware: 304 stainless for general carcasses, powder-coated galvanised steel where stainless isn’t necessary, and pressed stiffeners to maintain rigidity without adding weight. Replaceable doors and fronts minimise downtime, reduce call-outs and keep infrastructure usable.
